Full Job Description

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and manage sea freight import and export shipments from start to finish.
• Arrange and monitor bookings with shipping lines, agents and other service providers.
• Track vessels, containers and shipment milestones and provide regular updates.
• Prepare, process and verify relevant import/export documentation.
• Liaise with shipping lines, transporters, customs agents, warehouses and overseas agents.
• Communicate with clients regarding shipment status, documentation, delays and delivery arrangements.
• Ensure customs and regulatory documentation is completed accurately and timeously.
• Monitor container collections, deliveries, releases and returns.
• Follow up on outstanding documentation, releases and shipment requirements.
• Identify and resolve operational issues, delays and discrepancies.
• Ensure all shipment information is accurately captured on the relevant systems.
• Assist with costing, invoicing and reconciliation of shipments where required.
• Maintain accurate shipment files and ensure all documentation is properly recorded.
• Provide professional and responsive service to clients throughout the shipment lifecycle.
• Work closely with internal operations, sales, finance and other departments to ensure seamless shipment execution.

Requirements
• Matric / Grade 12.
• 2–5 years' experience in Sea Freight / Freight Forwarding.
• Solid understanding of sea freight import and/or export procedures.
• Experience working with shipping lines, transporters, customs agents and overseas agents.
• Knowledge of import/export documentation and shipping processes.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
• Computer literate, with experience using freight forwarding systems advantageous.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and customs procedures will be advantageous.
